SINGLEREEL
Site - Privacy Policy
PRIVACY
POLICY
SINGLEREEL is committed to safeguarding your privacy. In order
to educate our user community, we have created this Privacy Policy
to inform you about the information we gather and use when you
visit our web site, who has access to it, what happens to it,
and what control you have over its use.
What
information does SINGLEREEL collect from you?
SINGLEREEL
collects two types of information from its members, software users,
and visitors: Personal Information and Anonymous Information.
What
is Personal Information?
"Personal
Information" includes (1) personally identifiable information,
such as your name, phone number, mailing address, e-mail address,
etc., (2) demographic information, such as your age, gender, income
level, household size, etc., and (3) psychographic information,
such as your hobbies, interests, type of use on the Internet,
reason for using particular software, etc.
What
is Anonymous Information?
"Anonymous
Information" means information that cannot be traced back
specifically to you as an individual. While you are on our web
sites, we collect Anonymous Information such as what web site
you came from, what web pages you go to on our web site, the time
of your visit, the type of web browser you use (the software you
use to connect to the Internet and visit web sites) and the type
of computer system you use. Such information is gathered on an
aggregated basis (meaning you are not personally identified) to
study the demographics, interests and behavior of different types
of consumers. For example, we look at broad demographic statistics
to determine what percentage of users have Netscape browsers versus
Internet Explorer.
What
do certain Internet terms mean?
A
"URL" (Uniform Resource Locator) is the global address
of web sites and web pages on the World Wide Web.
An
"IP address" (Internet Protocol address) is a number
that identifies your computer so that data (such as the web site
you want to go to) can be sent to you.
A
"referrer ID" is information from your web browser showing
us what URL you linked from so we can see what web sites linked
to our web site.
A
"cookie" is a small data file that is sent from our
web server and stored on your computer hard drive while you are
visiting our web site. Cookies store and retrieve information
on your computer about your web browsing activities, such as what
web site you came from and what pages you go to on our web site.
This type of information can help us improve our products and
services. Cookie technology is fairly commonplace on the Internet,
and most web browsers are initially set to accept cookies; however,
you can set your web browser to refuse cookies, or have it notify
you when you receive a cookie so that you can decide whether or
not to accept it.
A
"GUID" is a Globally Unique Identifier, or an unambiguously
unique number assigned to your computer, which is downloaded to
your computer's hard drive if you download software from the world
wide web.
How
does SINGLEREEL collect Personal and Anonymous Information?
We
collect Personal Information from you: (1) when you register through
the SINGLEREEL website, or (2) if you contact us with questions
or requests for help (i.e. technical support). We keep this latter,
contact information confidential, as a record of correspondence,
and use it strictly to respond to such requests.
We
collect Anonymous Information from your web browser which sends
information to our web server in the form of URLs, cookies, referral
IDs, IP addresses, computer system information, and logs of web
browsing activities ("web logs"). We use cookies to
keep track of visitors to our website. The cookies help us by
reminding us who you are through your registered information when
you enter the Site, estimating the number of Site users, tracking
surveys we send out to registrants, sending out newsletters to
those who request them and measuring certain traffic patterns
of our web site users and visitors.
What
information is collected from you as a visitor of a SINGLEREEL
web site?
If
you are just visiting one of our web sites and do not register,
then we collect Anonymous Information from you to determine what
URL you came to us from and to calculate the number of visitors
to our Site.
What
information is collected from you if you register with SINGLEREEL?
At
SINGLEREEL, we collect Personal Information when you register
with our community. During the registration process, we ask our
users to provide their e-mail address, user name, and other information.
We also give registrants the option to volunteer personal information
such as their name, occupation, gender, etc. You can see a copy
of our Registration Form by clicking here [link]. Any information
that you provide during the registration process is only accessible
by our employees who are directly involved with the operation
of the web site. We also use your Personal Information to get
a better sense of our users' interests in order to improve our
content and our service offerings. Other than the two uses described
here and unless you give us your prior express written consent,
we do not share, rent, or sell any of your Personal Information
to any other outside parties, and we do not link this information
to any anonymous usage statistics.
How
will my Personal Information be used?
By
registering with the SINGLEREEL website, we will use your Personal
Information as follows: (a) we will use your e-mail address to
send you our periodic newsletter, and (b) ….. Instructions
on how to un-subscribe from our e-mail mailing list are included
in every newsletter. From time to time, we may also request that
you complete our surveys. Like our newsletters, however, instructions
on how to un-subscribe from survey requests are included in those
surveys and you are never obligated to complete them.
What
about the privacy of children?
Safeguarding
the personal information of children is extremely important. If
you are a parent or guardian of anyone under the age of 18, we
encourage you to participate in your child's experience on the
Internet and discuss with them the importance of informing you
when their personal information is requested from any web site.
In
order to comply with the new COPPA ruling, if you are younger
than 13 years of age, you are forbidden from becoming a member
of SINGLEREEL or posting information on SINGLEREEL message boards
without direct parental consent. You may have your parent or guardian
e-mail us at permission@SINGLEREEL.com to verify that you have
been granted permission to use this site.
In
general, SINGLEREEL collects, uses and discloses information about
all of its users and registrants in the same manner (i.e. no different
methods for collecting information from children). However, SINGLEREEL
Kids is a designated area of the web site dedicated to those speaking
with and to children effected by divorce. The SINGLEREEL Kids
area will not solicit or collect any personal information from
any user entering that area of the Site, however, before entering
any area of the web site, please read and review the following
policy carefully, especially if you are 17 or younger:
We
strongly recommend that you protect yourself by telling your parent
or guardian about your participation here on the SINGLEREEL Site,
and get your parent's or guardian's permission before disclosing
any information about yourself to anyone on the Internet, including
through our Site.
If
you are under the age of 13 (12 years old or younger), we are
required by law to get your parent's or guardian's written permission
which allows you to access our Site before you provide any information
to SINGLEREEL and before you access our Site.
If
you are under the age of 13, this also means that we will need
your parent's or guardian's email address to send him/her an email
to (1) state that we have learned you are under 13, (2) describe
the type of Personal Information we would be collecting from you
if he/she gave us permission to collect that information from
you, and (3) outline what the process would be in getting his/her
consent.
If
you are under the age of 18, we will still need your parent's
or guardian's email address so that we can (1) tell him/her that
we have learned you are between the ages of 13 and 17, (2) describe
the type of Personal Information we would be collecting from you,
and (3) encourage him/her to participate in your experience on
the Internet and talk with you about the importance of protecting
your Personal Information over the Internet.
It
is important for all users to note that requests for personally
identifiable information may appear on the portions of the SINGLEREEL
site or those of our partners, which are directed, to parents
and other adults. SINGLEREEL has taken steps to alert users that
certain areas of the site where personally identifiable information
is collected are restricted to adults only. We provide "bumper
pages" at certain points to let users of the SINGLEREEL Kids
area know that they're leaving the Kids area and entering an area
that's limited to parents and other adults. We include warnings
that portions of the site are intended for adults only. And we've
designed the content and language of those areas so that they're
clearly directed at adults, not children. If we were to discover
that children submitted personally identifiable information, SINGLEREEL
would delete the information promptly.
If
you are under the age of 18, make sure you protect yourself by
getting your parent or guardian's permission before disclosing
any information about yourself to anyone on the Internet. SINGLEREEL
will not send any direct e-mails or other correspondence to users
who indicate they are under the age of 18.
Online
Surveys
At
times SINGLEREEL may run online surveys asking for specific contact
or demographic information. These surveys are always optional.
At times SINGLEREEL may share both the results of, and individual
entries in, surveys with the sponsors of the survey.
Contests
At
times SINGLEREEL may run contests on our site where we ask for
contact or demographic information. These contests are always
optional. At times SINGLEREEL may share both the results of, and
individual entries in, surveys with the sponsors of the survey.
Member
Feedback
SINGLEREEL
stores feedback members send to us. This feedback is used to administer
and refine the SINGLEREEL service and at times may be shared with
SINGLEREEL partners either in aggregate form or with specific
identifying characteristics (e.g., e-mail address, name) removed.
Message
Boards, Polls, and Community Tools
SINGLEREEL
provides many venues for member interaction and community, including
message boards, online polls, and other tools. In some cases use
of such tools (e.g. message boards) may reveal a user's member
name or e-mail address. The aggregate result of polls may be shared
on SINGLEREEL sites. Use of SINGLEREEL's message boards, and other
community tools is typically governed by specific policies. Users
may have the ability to publish certain personal information (e.g.
Web page links, content ratings) on the SINGLEREEL service. In
all cases, users create this information by opting in. Users who
do not want this information to be publicly available should not
use these optional features on SINGLEREEL.

will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use and

How
does SINGLEREEL use your information?

With

As

Information that could specifically identify you as an individual

to be shared or used by an outside party, you can choose to prevent
such use by telling us when you receive and respond to our notice
of such a disclosure.
We

by using data related to demographics, interests, and behavior
on an aggregated basis to better understand and serve our users
and members. We may also share this aggregated data with our business
partners. No outside party, however, will have access to any personally
identifiable information about you except when we have your specific
written permission prior to such access.
How
does SINGLEREEL protect and keep your information secure?
Although
no data transmission over the Internet is guaranteed to be 100%
secure, we will use our best efforts to ensure its security on
our systems.
What
are your choices with regard to changing, deleting, and preventing
disclosure of your information?
SINGLEREEL
may, from time to time, send you e-mail (if you register with

the posting of the current version will be noted at the bottom
of the policy. In the event that the terms of this Privacy Policy
change to allow for the collection of more Personal Information
or to allow for different uses of any information collected by
the Site, a clear and conspicuous notice will be placed on the
